SO FINALLY, NO MORE SLEEPS… THURSDAY, OCT 11, 2018
Blenheim Lit Fest kicks off
Nope, today is the day: a mere 8,760 hours since last year’s Blenheim Lit Fest took to the literary stage and as always it kicks off with a ‘soft’ opening - a literary, or more precisely, literary-gastro combo, courtesy of legendary Chinese chef, food writer and broadcaster Ken Hom.
However, its real meat and potatoes so to speak, starts tomorrow at noon, with a timely and captivating perspective on mettle, grit and pursuing our dreams with entrepreneur Wilfred Emmanuel-Jones.
Followed by the sublimely intriguing ‘Weird Plants’ with Chris Thorogood at 2.00pm and the light musical celebration, also at 2.00pm, offered by vocalist Jacqui Dankworth, poet Jeremy Robson and singer/songwriter Charlie Wood.
At 4.00pm, historian and archaeologist Professor John Blair presents a radically new view on the origins of Anglo-Saxon life, while at 6.45pm, the day is brought to a sumptuous close, courtesy of the Lucca Festival Singers performing in the Palace’s Orangery.
So if you want a taste of that real Friday feeling, head for Blenheim!
