Duke of Gloucester
The first Duke of Gloucester Lecture was delivered at the 2015 festival by the then Prime Minister, The Rt Hon David Cameron MP. The lecture took the form of an interview with Lord Peter Hennessy, Attlee Professor of History at Queen Mary, University of London.
The second lecture, at the personal invitation of HRH The Duke of Gloucester (Royal Patron of the festival), was given in 2016 by the vice-chancellor of the University of Oxford Professor Louise Richardson. The 2017 lecture was given by one of the world’s leading historians of the Church Professor Sir Diarmaid MacCulloch.
