Award-winning Italian novelist and food writer Simonetta Agnello Hornby talks about her latest novel, Caffè Amaro.

Hornby was born in Palermo but has spent most of her adult life in England where she co-founded a community legal aid firm that specialises in domestic violence. Her first novel The Almond Picker (La Mennulara) was an international bestseller and won the Forte Village Literary Prize, the Stresa Prize for Fiction, and the Alassio prize. She has published seven more novels, works of non-fiction, short stories and books of recipes.
