Susan Baker has spent her life in the high political circles of the world’s most powerful nation. Following a disastrous first marriage, she married the recently widowed James Baker. James Baker’s political career took off, bringing him to the attention of Ronald Reagan and the first President George Bush, and ultimately to a role as US Secretary of State.
In Passing it On, Susan Baker reveals how her Christian faith helped her through the most difficult times. She describes how she faced the challenge of uniting eight children into one family on her second marriage and the particular challenges she faced as the wife of a man at the highest levels of the Reagan and first Bush administrations.
Here she talks to Mary Jo Jacobi, who was Under Secretary of State for Commerce under President George Bush senior and is now a visiting fellow of the University of Oxford Said Business School.
