Crossley-Holland is an award-winning poet and children’s writer. His most recent collection of poems is The Breaking Hour, described as a ‘book of meetings’. Crossley-Holland is well known for his children’s books including The Seeing Stone, which won the Guardian Children’s Fiction Award. He won the prestigious Carnegie Medal for Storm and was shortlisted for Gatty’s Tale. He has also translated Beowulf from the Anglo-Saxon.
Robson is a well-known poet and publisher. He initiated and participated the highly popular Jazz in Concert events that featured many leading poets and musicians. Robson’s latest moving and often witty collection, Blues In the Park, was described by actress Maureen Lipman as ‘a marvellous wry observation of the sweet, sour, and savoury in life’.
Okri is considered one of the foremost African writers of the post-modern period. At 21, he published his first novel, Flowers and Shadows, and in 1991, The Famished Road, which won the Booker Prize. His most recent novel is The Age of Magic and his most recent volume of poetry, Wild.
