The talk will be illustrated with music and film on CD and DVD.

Callas was a Greek-American soprano known as La Divina and one of the most well-known and highly regarded of the 20th century. Her temperamental nature was often recorded by the press. She remains one of the best-selling opera vocalists today.

Matheopoulos is a former fashion editor of Tatler magazine and a contributor to The Times, Gramophone and Opera Now. She has published widely on opera including Placido Domingo; Diva: The New Generation; and Fashion Designers at the Opera.
