Zingaretti is well-known for his role playing Inspector Montalbano in the Italian mystery series based on the novels of Andrea Camilleri.

The series has been shown widely abroad including in the UK by BBC Four in its popular Saturday evening imported drama slot.

While Zingaretti is best known for playing Montalbano, he has also starred in many Italian films and is one of the most in-demand Italian actors.

Zingaretti will read from the Italian and there will be translation facilities for non-Italian speakers.

Presented by the Italian Cultural Institute.

Zingaretti will also be at a private tour of the Ashmolean Museum’s Storms, War and Shipwrecks: Treasures from the Sicilian Seas exhibition at 5.30pm. Tickets for this event are limited and can be obtained at www.ashmolean.org/events/SpecialEvents/#lucazingaretti
