About this Event:

Financial Times journalist and broadcaster Tim Harford returns as the ‘undercover economist’ to explain how the world economy works. The original The Undercover Economist, in which Harford explained how economics worked on a small scale in our everyday lives, sold a million copies. Since then, the global recession has placed economics at the top of the news agenda. Harford explains how the global economy impacts our lives, addressing questions such as: what would happen if we cancelled everyone’s debt? how do you create a job? are the emerging nations about to take over the world? and what is the future for the Euro?

Harford is a senior columnist for the Financial Times and presenter of Radio 4’s More or Less. He was the winner of the Bastiat Prize for economic journalism in 2006.
