About this Event:

Lynne Levin of award-winning Levin Wines leads a guided tasting of four vintages of Levin Sauvignon Blanc produced in France’s Loire Valley. Included in the tasting are four vintages, 2007, 2009, 2011 and the Concours Mondial Sauvignon gold medal-winning 2012. Levin will demonstrate how the various vintage conditions and the organic viticulture practised by the company have affected the evolution of the wines across the different vintages. She will discuss how the picking and separate vinifying of grapes at each of the 19 Levin vineyards allows the company to blend the best each vintage has to offer. The event will also include the blind tasting of a surprise wine.

Levin wines are produced by the renowned hotelier David Levin and his Australian wife Lynne. The wines are made organically using the best of traditional French and modern winemaking practices to allow the true expression of the sauvignon blanc grape. The Levin winery is a state-of-the-art building that was shipped to France in its entirety from Australia. Levin Sauvignon Blanc is renowned for its crisp refreshing citrus aromas, exotic fruit notes and hints of wild mint underpinned by flinty minerality.

The Levin wines have won many awards. The 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 Levin Sauvignon Blanc were all awarded a gold medal by the Gilbert & Gaillard Guide Des Vins. They have won accolades from well-known wine writers such as Jancis Robinson, Steven Spurrier and Tim Atkin.
