About this Event:

Award-winning singer-songwriter Beverley Craven talks to broadcaster David Freeman about her life and music and performs for the audience. Craven rose to fame in the early 1990s with her eponymous first album and the hit single Promise Me. She followed up with a string of hits including Memories, Holding On, Woman To Woman and Love Scenes. In 1992, she received a Brit Award for best British newcomer and was also nominated for best British single and album of the year. Her records have sold four million copies.

After a lengthy break to raise a family, Craven returned with a new album, Close to Home, in 2009 and has since performed regularly to audiences across the country. She also recently published her limited-edition autobiography, Truth Be Told, a frank account of her time in the music business, of raising a family and of her successful battle with breast cancer and subsequent relaunch of her career.
